Empowering women to promote REAL change

Together Women Project moves women out of crime into positive futures, working with them in safe, women-only spaces, building resilience and developing strengths that enable them to move away from damaging lifestyles.

TWP is offering a new keyworking service based in Bradford with a focus on helping woman, particularly asylum seekers, refugees and women from minority ethnic backgrounds. They are an all-female charity offering a gender-specific service which provides tailored support for a variety of needs including budgeting, parenting skills, employability, and mental wellbeing.

They aim to help women to develop their confidence and self-esteem by offering advice, guidance, focussed workshops and groups. This includes counselling, healthy relationships, confidence building, family legal advice, and many more. They can offer the service either from their base in the Carlisle Business Centre or by making appointments in local community centres.

Together Woman Project

Reducing prescribing of over-the-counter medicines

NHS Bradford district and Craven CCGs have agreed to adopt NHS England’s guidance on reducing prescribing of over the counter medicines

This means that if you have a minor condition that can be easily treated with medicines that are available to buy, your GP may ask you to buy the medicine rather than issue a prescription.

If your GP needs to refer you for a physical or mental health condition, the NHS constitution says you can choose which hospital or service you go to.

Tell your Doctor you have a learning disability and they can check if you are on our learning disability register.


When a patient is on the Learning Disability Register, they will be offered the support.  For example:

  • Extra time and support during your appointment,
  • Easy read/accessible information,
  • Help to make an appointment.

Patient can also be offered a full health check every year.

  ***NEW ONLINE SERVICES:

We are now offering On-line appointment booking/cancelling, repeat medication ordering, together with SMS text messaging reminders and on-line access to summary medical records.

To register for all On-Line  services:

Please attend at surgery to register for our On-line services.  You must provide Passport, Driving Licence, Birth Certificate or Identification Card  and proof of address to confirm your identity.  ALL patients will be required to provide this information prior to registering for on-line services.  Registration will be carried out by our Receptionists at the surgery and once registered you will be given details of  Website address, User name and Password to enable you to access all online services.  On-line appointments can be booked and cancelled up to 2 hours prior to the appointment time..

PLEASE NOTE: Your on-line access information is PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL: as such, you MUST ensure this information is kept safe and secure.  The Practice WILL NOT accept responsibility for lost or stolen information resulting in breach of confidentiality or unauthorised access to your on-line information.

On-line Access for Prescription ordering: Repeat medication only can be requested using this service, giving 48 working hours notice from request to collection as per practice protocols.  PLEASENOTE: We are unable to deal with requests for items not on your repeat list using this service.

On-line Access for appointment booking: You will have access to our pre-bookable On-line appointments.  These can be booked up to 10 working days ahead and up to two hours prior to the appointment time. You also have access to cancel these appointments if required.

SMS Messaging for appointment reminders:  When requesting this service you must provide a current up to date mobile telephone number.  It is not recommended that patients 'share' a mobile number as this would be 'sharing' confidential information.  However, with the explicit signed consent of both the mobile owner and the patient requesting SMS messaging, the practice will endeavour to help.  PLEASE NOTE: You will be responsible for ensuring any changes to the mobile number is immediately

THE PRACTICE WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBLITY FOR SMS MESSAGES BEING SENT TO INCORRECT MOBILE NUMBERS - At all times, SMS messages will be sent to the number we hold on your medical record- it is your responsibility to ensure we hold an up to date mobile number.

Children under 15yrs of age: may be registered for services by a parent/guarding using shared mobile numbers. However as we are unable to send patient identifiable information via SMS messaging it is the responsibility of the parent/carer/guardian when receiving an SMS message, to be aware of 'who' the appointment is booked for.

Summary Care records: This information is available for patients on-line, the information contained will include details of allergies, medication, procedures and long term illness/disease management conditions.  Patients are not able to see their full medical record at this time.

 PLEASE NOTE: The practice reserves the right to Audit and Revoke access if deemed necessary in the event of On-line services and SMS messaging being used inappropriately or abused.
